Situated in the historic Sivasagar district of Upper Assam, Khongea Tea Estate produced some fine malty and robust tea during the Second Flush. This tea is the special lot of CTC produced from the leaves plucked on International Tea Day 2020, the plucking was of the highest order ensuring that two leaves and a bud were picked to produce a strong cup of chai.
The raw leaf displays an even cut with a coppery look to the granules. The cup produced is gutty and malty, the way Assam tea of yore used to be. The cup produced is like a single malt, with deep colour when had with milk. Upon drinking the tea will linger in your senses, transporting you to the fields of the Brahmaputra Valley.
This is one tea to have on any morning, perfect for a boost to your mood and energy.
