Discover the essence of spring with our Darjeeling First Flush black tea. Handpicked with care on a crisp spring morning, this tea boasts medium body and a unique flavor profile that sets it apart from other spring teas.
The leaves, a lively mix of dark green and black hues, are of substantial size and almost free of stems. Brewed, they transform into a radiant golden-yellow beverage that greets you with the freshness of spring blossoms, followed by a subtle hint of toastiness. Each sip leaves a lasting impression, reminiscent of the serene Darjeeling hills shrouded in mist.
Puttabong Tea Estate, known as the abode of lush greenery, holds the honor of being Darjeeling’s first tea plantation, established by Dr. Campbell in 1852. The estate is a pioneer in eco-friendly practices, boasting extensive vermicomposting, cattle farming, and the use of local herbs to create organic fertilizers.
Nestled amidst the breathtaking views of Mount Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest mountain, Puttabong spans from 1500 to 6500 feet in elevation and stretches over 22 kilometers to the Rangeet river, fed by Himalayan snow. This sprawling estate, one of Darjeeling’s largest, extends nearly 20 kilometers from the city to the Sikkim border, offering a tapestry of tea gardens divided into five distinct sections.
